Quality reconfirmed: oneword is recertified to ISO 17100 and ISO 18587
oneword has started the year with a successful recertification to DIN EN ISO 17100 and DIN ISO 18587. The regular check of compliance with all criteria of both standards was carried out by an independent auditor and has confirmed our high quality standards in every respect.
Increasing requirements from customers and options for designing processes for professional translations are also reflected in two important standards for language service providers: DIN EN ISO 17100 for translation services and DIN ISO 18587 for post-editing machine translations. In a recent expert presentation we showed how the two complement each other and how they can be optimally applied in practice.
Recertification to both standards was carried out in the usual two-year cycle. However, it had been eagerly awaited a little more than usual this time , as oneword only introduced its new project management software at the beginning of 2020 and, as part of the migration, has re-examined and optimised all of its processes, together with the associated documentation.
The auditor conducted thorough one-on-one discussions with project management, management, partner management, quality management and IT and scrutinised oneword’s respective processes in detail. There were no complaints whatsoever, but rather an explicit confirmation of its well-documented quality processes and the high level of transparency for its customers.
Since 2015 and from the very beginning, oneword has been certified in accordance with the international DIN EN ISO 17100 standard, which specifically regulates process standards for translation services and is intended to ensure a high-quality translation product. Previously, oneword had already been certified for three years in accordance with the preceding DIN EN 15038 standard, which was then replaced by the new standard. Since 2019, oneword has also been certified to DIN ISO 18587, the international standard for post-editing machine-generated translations. The company has not only firmly integrated both standards into its own processes and services, but also intends to help shape them as an active member of the DIN committee.
Freshly audited, oneword remains one of the select few translation service providers in Germany to be certified in accordance with both standards.
